Sally Smith, PhD, LPC
Director of Field Experience
Have your feelings started to feel out of control? Does it seem like you can’t manage things on your own anymore? We all have feelings, and when they start to get overwhelming we can only make it so far by ignoring them or covering them up with distractions. The journey to understand and deal with your feelings can be painful, but I believe it is well worth it. Sometimes that journey is something you can manage on your own, and sometimes you need some help from an outside resource.
If you are finding yourself in need of another resource, I would be honored to join you on that journey by serving as your counselor. In our counseling sessions, you can expect to gain insights regarding the underlying causes of your struggles as well as support and direction for how to turn those insights into lasting changes. Counseling is not often easy or simple, but it is definitely worth it!

About Sally
I’m a New Orleans transplant originally from GA, but I’ve called the city home for more than a decade now. I’ve had the unique opportunity to be at Restoration since I started as a student intern in 2012, and I am a firm believer in the work of healing God is doing here. I care deeply about people’s stories, emotions, bodies, and beliefs in the work that I do.
I’m a follower of Jesus, a foster parent, an introvert, and a travel and outdoors lover. In my margin time outside of work (depending on the season of parenting I’m in), you can find me taking barefoot walks around the neighborhood, nurturing deep relationships, baking sourdough bread and cooking bacon on the weekends, biking, pursuing connection and play with my kid(s), and searching for a good sunset view.
