Building a Stronger Mental Health Future for Louisiana
Louisiana faces three significant behavioral health challenges that affect individuals, families, and communities throughout our region. Restoration Counseling Center & Restoration Academy are responding with three interconnected initiatives.
Our Solutions to Problems
1
Louisiana continues to experience shortages of qualified mental health professionals. While universities graduate counseling students each year, many face barriers during the transition from education to professional practice.
Fieldwork Experience Program
Supervised clinical training experiences for Master's level counseling students - through mentorship, professional formation, and hands-on clinical experience.
2
Demand for mental health services continues to exceed available resources. Many individuals face long wait times, provider shortages, and limited access to specialized trauma-informed care.
Emerging Clinicians Access Initiative
Supports Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) through supervision, mentorship, advanced training, and workforce development - helping early-career clinicians enter and remain in the profession.
3
Many individuals and families who need counseling cannot afford it. Even with insurance, deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket costs can prevent people from receiving care.
Affordable
Community Care
Provides reduced-fee and scholarship-supported counseling services to eliminate the financial barrier for individuals and families in our community.
